Bible Promises Every Believer and Giver Should Know

Bible promises are the life preservers of scripture. They comfort and give hope for the soul in times of trouble and discouragement. In fact, it’s likely that your favorite scriptures became favorites because of a promise they contain.

5 Bible Promises to Believers

God keeps his promises: “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” (Joshua 21:45)

He is always with you: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2)

You were created for a purpose: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10 )

God empowers you: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

You will find joy in His presence: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” (Psalm 16:11)

5 Bible Promises to Givers

Sometimes, when giving seems impossible, it can be empowering to remember the many ways God describes the benefits of giving.

A generous spirit will come back to bless you: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)

You can’t outgive God: “‘Bring the tenth part into the store-house, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,’ says the Lord of All. ‘See if I will not then open the windows of heaven and pour out good things for you until there is no more need.’” (Malachi 3:10)

Taking care of others is an investment in your own life: “Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.” (Psalm 112:5)

Generosity is more than just monetary: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25)

Holding too tightly to your resources can backfire on you: “One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.” (Proverbs 11:24)
